My name (as I am sure you have already worked out) is Adam. I like to talk (As I am sure you have worked out) And I like to write (Yes,we all know) I am very fortunate to live in one of (in my opinion) what I consider to be one of the most picturesque parts of GB. Cornwall is a coastal county, which has an atmosphere, more like the 1930s than the 21st century. We are slower paced, than most parts of the UK (How I dislike that word) and it most definitely has a holiday feel, about the place. (probably, because it is a holiday place).
I have worked in a Bookshop for the past 12 years. And have been fortunate enough to have had some of my writings published in magazines ect. (though the pay is terrible, and you would probably get more, cleaning the roads) no writer unless you are JK Rowling does it for the dosh,it is like most things worth doing, we do it because of our love of it.
My life has not always been the happiest of existences,I have suffered with depression on and off for many years. And would consider myself to have a ‘Chameleon’ nature. Always changing my mind,Just as a Chameleon changes colour,so do I. My Dog Timothy and My dog Lucky (who passed away) are the most important ‘dog people’ in my life,I could not imagine a life without animals.
Walking is a particular passion of mine, getting outside in the open countryside is truly a saviour at times. Fussing,I am told is a characteristic that those who love me always poke fun at me for. I suppose it’s more about my being a worrier, than my being a ‘fuss pot’ as the teachers always said to me,at school.
As far as religious convictions are concerned,I would consider myself to be a mix of Christian and Taoist. Although I have struggled with my faith over the years, and believe me,when I say; I have made many mistakes. I can’t help but know that the Gospel message has some truth in it. I am constantly learning and Only hope I will get to know Father God and my Saviour Jesus better every day.
Who am I to preach at you? all is can do is say things as I feel and see them, and leave you to make your own Journey of discovery. There is no point in my preaching at you, since I don’t know all the answers myself. I am always open to new ideas and never say never. All i know is Jesus has always been a part of my life and although I have tried to run away from him at times,he has never let me go.
The Piano is my other Passion,I love playing old songs from the 30s,which has always been an era,I have felt a particular fondness for. When manners were expected of everyone and people ‘dressed proper’ as my Grandfather would say.
To say that I was an agreeable sort of chap, would possibly be a slight white lie. Since I know I do have the capacity to be a bit rebellious at certain times. Not in a harmful way,Just as far as my own life is concerned. I have always abhorred rules. If a rule is before me, I tend to either; ignore it,adjust it,or Just plain laugh at it. I believe we all are quite capable of knowing when something is wrong or right, and I try to believe that all humans have the capacity to care and be kind. Let’s face it; there is enough hate in this world.
I think this is a good Juncture to ‘shut up’ else I might be tempted to write a whole book about myself, which would be both presumptuous and Egocentric.
If you made it thus far, well done. If you didn’t and have simply skipped to the end, then I forgive you. we are all friends on this Blog.
Peace be with you!
Sea-world is literally ‘quaking in its boots’ and rightly so. Blackfish the awesome film documentary directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite has cooked up a real storm in a tea cup.
Sea-world is running out of excuses fast, the immense cruelty it causes to innocent animals,by Keeping them in captivity is something the world is no longer willing to accept. The facts speak for themselves.
- Captivity Kills
- Captivity shortens a cetaceans life span
- These wild creatures are, well; wild.
- SeaWorld is responsible for the trade and capture of cetaceans
- Captivity is big business
- SeaWorld keeps cetaceans in tiny tanks
- SeaWorld is funding the very people who hunt and kill Dolphins and orcas
Does this sound like the actions of one who cares for the protection and welfare of Dolphins and Orcas? I think not.
SeaWorld is a shameful, money making machine, that is no better than the Taiji Killer’s themselves. Do you really believe that those at the very top of the SeaWorld monster, really cares about protecting Cetaceans? They have only one interest in these wild creatures. And that is money.
Some of the trainers use the excuse; that they would rather be with the orcas looking after them, than not. This is ridiculous! These trainers,if they really care about the animals being abused at SeaWorld, should join in the fight to end the captivity of cetaceans. Not working for and increasing the public’s affection for such dreadful places.
It’s quite simple really. Those who attend are as guilty as SeaWorld itself. No excuses. If one knows something is wrong, one should not support it,in any way. Now that Blackfish has been on the television networks, all over the world. There really is no longer an excuse. Stop attending SeaWorld.Spread the message to everyone you know.
Whilst the struggle for existence
is a force most strong.
Many having tried,Fail,then are
One need not struggle to exist
it’s living one has most trouble
A slave may only be enslaved,
if one allows one’s mind to be
Deprived of imagination,forced into
the drought of an artless existence.
Words,give meaning to that struggle.
striving to make a more beautiful world,
fighting,perhaps,against the tide.
yet, eventually you have to go with it
Creativity,frees one from the captivity.
Instead of being captured by life’s fetters,
language gives us the tools to escape.
or at-least to deal with things better.
We can chose, whether or not to continue suffering,
or to embrace what life throws at us.
in an attempt,to find the real you.
